Series creator Ava Duvernay introduces you to the latest series set in the DC universe, where young Naomi McDuffie (Kaci Walfall) discovers there is more to the world than she previously believed in this preview for the new series Naomi. Watch January 11 on The CW.
Naomi is a 2022 live-action television series developed for The CW, based on the DC Comics character of the same name, created by Brian Michael Bendis and David F. Walker.
Kaci Walfall (Army Wives) is set to play the lead role in the series. Alexander Wraith is set to play Dee, a tattoo artist with helpful insights. Cranston Johnson is playing Zumbado, a seemingly dangerous man with a shadowy past. Camila Moreno plays Lourdes, who has a crush on Naomi. The cast also includes Barry Watson, Mouzam Makkar, Mary-Charles Jones, Aidan Gemme and Daniel Puig.
In the comics, Naomi journeys to our planet from an alternate Earth to protect it from a destructive force.
Producer/director Ava DuVernay developed the show, with former Arrow writer Jill Blankenship serving as writer and executive producer. DeMane Davis (Queen Sugar) is also a co-executive producer and will lead the directing team.
