Naomi Picked Up To Series at The CW
The TV series based on the DC Comics title Naomi is officially a go. Producer Ava DuVernay announced on social media that the pilot earned a series greenlight from The CW. The character will be played on the small screen by Kaci Walfall. It remains to be seen exactly when the series will premiere but we're guessing it'll hit the network in the fall of this year. There's been no word whether or not this will play in the larger Arrowverse continuity, or stand apart from it.
Painkiller Spinoff Not Happening
In a video message on Instagram, actor Jordan Calloway gave the bad news to fans: the planned Painkiller TV series spinning off from Black Lightning is not going forward. The star delivers the news without any sugar-coating saying, "For those of you that have not heard, Painkiller will not be going an further, so let's rip that band-aid off now." He goes on a to deliver a very gracious, heartfelt and classy thank you to his fans and supporters who gave him the opportunity to play the character. Watch his full video message below.

Godzilla/Kong Director Set for Kirkman's Hardcore
Deadline reports that director Adam Wingard, hot off his big win with Godzilla vs. Kong, is attached to direct Universal Pictures' adaptation of the comic Hardcore. The comic was created by Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead, Invincible) and Marc Silvestri (Cyberforce) and published by Image Comics. It involves a government operation that uses technology to allow assassins to inhabit the minds of ordinary citizens, allowing them access to targets normal soldiers can't.
Wingard will co-write the script with Will Simmons, from a story outline by Kirkman. Kirkman is producing the film under his Skybound Entertainment banner, along with David Alpert, Bryan Furst and Sean Furst. Wingard is also executive producing under his Montauk Chair shingle.
Marvel Studios' Eternals Gets New Poster
With the first trailer dropping earlier today, the social campaign for Marvel Studios' Eternals has released a poster for the film as well. The poster evokes the same enigmatic feel of the teaser, with the god-like beings walking in silhouette out of the sunrise as their strange craft hovers overhead. The movie arrives in theaters November 5th.
