Daily Blast: DC Comics-Based Naomi Gets Pilot Order and Other Stories

DC Comics-Based Naomi Gets Pilot Order

As The CW lines up its 2022 roster, it has handed out a number of pilot and series orders, according to a report from Deadline. One such pilot order goes to the proposed series based on the relatively-new DC Comics character Naomi. The show has been developed by producers Ava Duvernay and Jill Blankenship.

Karen Gillan Confirmed for Thor 4

Actor Karen Gillan has been spotted on the set of Thor: Love and Thunder, and is visible in full Nebula makeup in photos published by The Daily Mail. We already knew that Chris Pratt was in the film, so the appearance provides further confirmation that the movie will feature the Guardians of the Galaxy prominently. MCU fans will recall that Thor was seen at the end of Avengers: Endgame departing Earth with the Guardians. Also featured in the photo set is another actor in blue-skin makeup, likely another Kree warrior. The movie is set for release in May 2022.

Black Lightning Casts New Police Chief

Actor Melissa De Sousa has joined the cast of Black Lightning for its final season, according to a report from Deadline. She'll be playing police Chief Anna Lopez, who replaces Chief Henderson (Damon Gupton) who met his end in the Crisis event last season. Unlike Henderson, Lopez does not play well with metahumans and aims to crack down on and control super powered vigilantes. The new season premiered last night, with new episodes airing Mondays on The CW.

New Images of Leto's Snyder Cut Joker

The official twitter for Zack Snyder's Justice League has released new images of actor Jared Leto as the Joker. The character did not appear in the theatrical cut of the movie, but word leaked last October that he was filming new scenes with director Zack Snyder for the extended film. The new images have Leto with long hair and smeared mouth makeup, looking a bit more like Heath Ledger's take, than the Suicide Squad model. He also lacks the face tattoos that he sported in that movie. The reworked film is set to arrives on HBO Max March 18.
