HBO Max Maps Out Misfit City TV Series

HBO Max plans to adapt the BOOM Studios! comics Misfit City to series, according to a report from Deadline. The Goonies-inspired series was created by Kiwi Smith and Kurt Lustgarten and involves the discovery of an ancient pirate map in the small town where an iconic 80s movie was filmed. The show has Hannah Hafey and Kaitlin Smith (both of Popular) on board as creators and executive producers. Kiwi Smith and Lustgarten also serve as executive producers. Stephen Christy, Ross Richie and Mark Ambrose are executive producers for BOOM! Mette Norkjae is co-executive producer.
