Nickelodeon Developing Hex Vets Series
Nickelodeon announced today plans to develop cartoonist Sam Davies's graphic novel series Hex Vet as an animated TV series. The books, published by BOOM! Studios involve Nan and Clarion, two veterinarians in training from a fantasy world where their patients are everything from dragons to cats. Targeted for a 2023 release, the 20-episode series will be a mix of CG and 2D targeting preschoolers.
The series is developed for television by Nicole Dubuc (The Rocketeer), who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. Frank Molieri (Transformers: Rescue Bots) serves as co-executive producer and Kendall Michele Haney as story editor. The series is also executive produced by Stephen Christy and Ross Richie, with Mette Norkjaer serving as co-producer, for BOOM! Studios. Production of HexVet for Nickelodeon Animation is overseen by Eryk Casemiro, Executive Vice President, Nickelodeon Animation, Global Series Content. Kate Crownover serves as Nickelodeon’s Executive in Charge of Production for the series.
Marvel Studios Developing Nova Project
Marvel Studios is developing a new project around the character Nova, according to a report from Deadline. Sabir Pirzada (Moon Knight) is the writer developing the project It is unclear if this is a feature film or a Disney+ TV series. Kevin Feige is producing.
The character has primarily been depicted in comics as Richard Rider, a teenager who becomes invested with the powers of the intergalactic peace-keeping actency called Nova Corps. The Nova Corps have been previously seen in the MCU in the Guardians Of The Galaxy film series.
