May 24

Snowpiercer - season 1, episode 2, "Prepare to Brace" airs on TNT. Layton uses his new position as train detective to investigate the murder while gathering intelligence for the revolution on the side; Melanie faces a resource crisis, with potentially drastic consequences for the entire train.

May 25

DC's Stargirl - season 1, episode 2, "S.T.R.I.P.E." available on DC Universe. After Courtney has an unexpected run-in with a member of the Injustice Society of America, Pat reveals the truth to her about their history. Meanwhile, Barbara is elated when she sees Courtney making an attempt to get along with Pat, not knowing the secret they’ve been keeping. Finally, things take a dangerous turn at Blue Valley High’s open house night when Courtney becomes the target of a dangerous foe.

May 26

DC's Stargirl - season 1, episode 2, "S.T.R.I.P.E" airs on The CW. Same episode as above, but free to watch on The CW Network.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow - season 5, episode 14, "The One Where We're Trapped on TV" airs on The CW. After Charlie does the one thing that goes against her nature when it comes to her sisters, she tries to protect the Legends by scattering them in different television shows. Of course, in true Legends style some can’t just be blissfully ignorant and happy but figure out a way to end up messing with the system.

May 27

Season Premiere Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - season 7, episode 1, "The New Deal" airs on ABC. Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are thrust backward in time and stranded in 1931 New York City. With the all-new Zephyr set to time-jump at any moment, the team must hurry to find out exactly what happened. If they fail, it would mean disaster for the past, present and future of the world.

New Service HBO Max Launches

Here's a list of the comic-based content believed to be included with the new HBO Max streaming service at launch:

  • Aquaman - The hit 2018 film starting Jason Momoa as the once and future king of Atlantis.
  • Batman - Tim Burton's 1989 classic that sparked a new wave of comic book movies.
  • Batman Returns - Tim Burton's 1992 follow-up that featured Catwoman and The Penguin.
  • Batman Forever - Val Kilmer takes on the cape and cowl in this sequel.
  • Batman & Robin - George Clooney's turn in this franchise-halting film.
  • Batman Begins - Christopher Nolan's dramatic resurrection of the franchise.
  • The Dark Knight - Christopher Nolan's watershed sequel featuring that great Joker turn by Heath Ledger.
  • The Dark Knight Rises - Christopher Nolan's final film in his Batman cycle.
  • Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - Zack Snyder's Superman Sequel / Justice League prequel / universe-building epic.
  • The Lego Batman Movie - Will Arnett's hilarious toon version of the scowly one.
  • Batwoman - Season 1 - Ruby Rose has bowed out, but the show will go on next year. Binge it all.
  • Superman - Richard Donner's beloved 1979 classic.
  • Superman II - The epic showdown between Kal-el and Zod.
  • Superman III - A sillier Superman, featuring comedy legend Richard Pryor.
  • Superman IV: The Quest for Peace - The worst superman.
  • Superman Returns - Bryan Singer's 2006 sequel to Donner's Superman II.
  • Man of Steel - Zack Snyder's epic, gritty relaunch of the Superman franchise, starring Henry Cavill.
  • Wonder Woman - Patty Jenkin's wonderful adventure flick, perhaps the best film in the DCEU.
  • Justice League - The theatrical cut of the DCEU super-group pic.
  • Suicide Squad - The franchise-launcher featuring Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn.
  • Doom Patrol - Season 1 - Last year's hit DC Universe series re-homes at HBO Max, with season 2 coming later this year.
  • Joker - Joaquin Phoenix's Oscar-winning turn as a different kind of villain.
  • Watchmen - season 1 - Damon Lindelof's damn-fine sequel to the graphic novel, here for binging.
  • The Boondocks - complete series - All four season of Aaron McGruder's beloved animated series to get you primed for the coming relaunch.
  • Katy Keene - season 1- the NYC-set Riverdale spinoff hasn't been announced for a second season, but here's the first one to binge.

May 28

Vagrant Queen - season 1, episode 9, "All Old Things Must Pass - Part 1" airs on SYFY. The penultimate episode of season one: The team arrive on Arriopa to take down Lazaro. A face from the past unexpectedly returns.

May 29

Harley Quinn - season 2, episode 9, "Bachelorette" streams on DC Universe. It's Bachelor/Bachelorette weekend for Harley, Ivy and Kite Man.
