Superman (1970s-1980s film series)
The Superman Film Series of the 1970s and 1980s is a cycle of four films that includes Superman, Superman II, Superman III and Superman IV: The Quest For Peace. All films in the series star Christopher Reeve who became an icon playing the title character. The films also feature a regular cast that includes Margot Kidder as Lois Lane, Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor, Mark McClure as Jimmy Olson and Jackie Cooper as Perry White. While the first two films in the series were blockbuster successes and fondly-remembered by fans, the franchise lost some luster with the highly-comedic third film and the low-budget fourth movie.
