Marvel Studios made waves at Comic-Con this year with the surprise announcement that a reboot of the Blade franchise was afoot with Mahershala Ali in the lead.

Blade: The Series is a 2006 TV series continuing the storyline of the film franchise.
Kirk "Sticky Fingaz" Jones takes over the role of the daywalker in this show, which was developed by David. S. Goyer (the writer and architect films) for the Spike TV network (now known as the Paramount Network). Blade makes an uneasy alliance with Krista Starr (Jill Wagner), a former marine who uncovers the vampire underground while searching for her lost brother. The pair team up against Marcus Van Sciver (Neil Jackson), the head vampire in the House of Chthon. Whistler, who died in the film, is replaced by Shen (Nelson Lee), Blade's ally and weaponsmith.
