Delroy Lindo Joins Blade Cast
Variety reports that actor Delroy Lindo is the latest addition to Marvel Studios' planned Blade reboot. The role he's cast in hasn't been specified, but the report speculates he may be serving as Blade's mentor Jamal Afari. The actor joins Mahershala Ali, who has the lead role and recently voiced a cameo in the credits stinger for Marvel Studios' Eternals. Lindo can currently be seen in the Netflix film The Harder They Fall. It's not Lindo's first flirtation with Marvel. He was previously cast at Dominic Fortune in Marvel's Most Wanted, the planned spin-off of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Marvel Studios Collaborating with Scarlett Johansson on New Project
In spite of the recent dust-up over profits and payments from Black Widow, it looks like Marvel Studios is still, happily, in the Scarlett Johansson business. Variety reports that Marvel Chief Kevin Feige appeared Thursday at the 35th American Cinematheque Award Show, which presented the actor with the organizations annual honor. Feige presented a retrospective on Marvel's work with her on various films over ten years. He then surprised audiences by adding, "We already are working with Scarlett on another not Black Widow-related top-secret Marvel Studios project."
No other details were given, so it's not clear if this will be a film, TV series or if Johansson is participating as an actor, producer or in some other creative capacity. In fact, given that Feige is also producing Star Wars movies as well, it's possible the project is not even in the MCU. Stay tuned.
