Paper Girls Loses A Showrunner
The Prime Video adaptation of the comic book series Paper Girls has lost a key player, according to a report from Deadline. Stephany Folsom, developer and executive producer on the show, has stepped down from her position as co-showrunner. Christopher C. Rogers remains as the sole showrunner on the series with Folsom reportedly having, "no active participation." Reasons for the departure are not specified in the article, but it is puzzling considering Folsom spend several years shepherding Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang's comic into a viable TV product. Production on the show is said to be continuing without interruption.
Colin Jost Writing New Ninja Turtles Live-Action Film
Deadline reports that SNL writer/player Colin Jost is co-writing a screenplay for a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film to continue the live-action franchise. Jost's co-writer is brother/Impractical Jokers producer Casey Jost. Producing are Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, Scott Mednick and Galen Walker, who produced 2014's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and its sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows. It looks likely that this new movie will be a sequel to that series as well.
It's unclear how this project interacts with the animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that is being produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. That project has a 2023 release date and Jeff Rowe (The Mitchells vs The Machines) directing.
At any rate, it looks like shell-heads will have lots of new stuff to watch.
