The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Reclaims #1 Spot
Marvel Studios' The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has topped the Nielsen Original Programming chart for streaming for the second time. For the week of April 5-11, the show took the #1 spot decisively, gathering 748 million minutes of viewing time. That's a 19% increase over the previous window. During this period the series debuted its fourth episode, which had a shocking ending and generated tons of online chatter.
Millar Updates Fans on Millarworld/Netflix Slate
On the eve of the premiere of Jupiter's Legacy on Netflix, comics creator-turned-producer Mark Millar updated fans on the slate of the other projects that are in development as part of his over-arching development deal with the streamer.
In a blog post, Millar revealed that the Jupiter-adjacent animated seres Supercrooks will have thirteen 30-minute episodes and is being created by Japan's Bones Inc. (My Hero Academia, Godzilla Singular Point).
The TV series version of his book The Magic Order is a back in the works with a new writers' room being pulled together.
He also revealed that plans for an American Jesus TV series is in development with director Everardo Gout (Luke Cage) and producer Leopoldo Gout.
Reborn is in development as a film with Chris McKay (The LEGO Batman Movie) directing from a script by Bek Smith. Sandra Bullock is producing.
They're also turning Prodigy into a feature film with Matthew and Ryan Firpo (Eternals) writing the script.
Other films in development include Empress, Huck and Sharkey the Bounty Hunter.
Ali Wong Joins Cast of Paper Girls
Comedic actor Ali Wong (Always Be My Maybe) is the latest addition to the cast of Prime Video's Paper Girls. The news was revealed in a tweet which features a photo of Wong with a copy of the graphic novel. The post doesn't get specific about the role but we'd guess she's playing Mom to Riley Lai Nelet's Erin character. The series is based on the Image Comics title created by Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang.
