Nope, Filming on The Batman Still On Hold
Updated: Variety refutes the Daily Mail account below, citing "a source with knowledge of the situation." According to their studio insiders, the production remains paused and no filming is taking place.
Original Report: Despite numerous reports yesterday that production on The Batman would shut down following star Robert Pattinson testing positive for COVID-19, The Daily Mail now says production is continuing. Pattinson is out of commission for at least fourteen days, while he self-isolates and recovers. However, staffers who did not interact with the star are still at work and Matt Reeves is filming scenes that don't require the star, or where a stand-in can be used.
AMC Appoints Walking Dead Czar
AMC Networks has promoted Scott Stein to an executive business director according to a report by Deadline. That's interesting to readers of this site as Stein's focus will be current and future expansion of The Walking Dead franchise.
The article doesn't get specific about what that means for future zombie formats, we do know that season ten of the primary series will air what was intended to be the finale on October 4, which is the same day that the two-season spinoff The Walking Dead: World Beyond begins. That'll be followed by season six of Fear The Walking Dead starting October 11. Of course, there is the much-discussed feature film focusing on Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes' journey after exiting the show.
These are things we already know about, so it's interesting that AMC is looking to expand even further.
