Sony/Amazon Plan Spider-Verse TV Shows, Starting With Silk
Deadline reports that negotiations are underway between Sony TV and Amazon to create a suite TV shows set in the world of Spider-Man. At the top list is an adaptation of the Korean American spider-girl Cindy Moon, better known as Silk. Lauren Moon (Atypical) has written a script for the show. Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) are attached to produce along with Amy Pascal. The report indicates that the show and the overarching suite of shows are still in the early stages of negotiations.
Pattinson Tests Postive: The Batman Shuts Down Again
Update: Deadline has updated their story to reveal that it is leading man Robert Pattinson who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Original Report: Production on director Matt Reeves' DC superhero movie The Batman has been halted once more. Deadline reports that, just three days after resuming production, a crew member has tested positive for COVID-19. The movie had just returned from an almost-six-month hiatus after the pandemic caused industry-wide shut-downs. No word on how long the current work-stoppage is expected to last. The movie is due in theaters October 2021.
4 Kids Walk Into a Bank Gets Film deal
Deadline reports that the newly formed media company Picturestart is developing a feature film based on the comic book 4 Kids Walk Into A Bank. Matthew Rosenberg, who co-created the comic with Tyler Boss, is writing the script, with both on board as producers. The comic is published by Black Mask Studios.
Locke & Key 2 To Begin Production Soon
The other hit, comic-based Netflix series Locke & Key is set to start production on season two later this month, according to a report on Deadline. September 21st is the day the cast and crew return to Toronto. Barring any shutdowns, the filming should continue through March. Season two was greenit very shortly after season one dropped in February. Locke & Key is based on the comics series by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, which is published by IDW.
The Umbrella Academy Scores Top Streaming Spot
The Umbrella Academy is the number 1 show on streaming services according to new ratings metrics release by Nielsen. The ratings service posted the first of its measure of streaming numbers today with the Dark Horse Comics-based show claiming the top spot by a very big margin. The superhero was viewed about three times as much as the #2 show Shamless and about ten times as much as the #10 show Parks and Rec. Netflix released season 2 of The Umbrella Academy at the end of July.

Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher is one of the Marvel Anime titles by Madhouse, which has S.H.I.E.L.D. pressing Frank Castle into a team-up with Black Widow, which puts them both at odds with the Avengers.
