The Boys Gets a Spinoff from Amazon
Plans are afoot for a spinoff series from Amazon's ratings record-breaker The Boys. Deadline reports that Craig Rosenberg is writing and serving as showrunner on the series, which would explore the campus training ground for Vought International supes. In other words, it's a college comedy with superheroes, and the satirical tone of the core series. The show is fast-tracked due to the runaway success of season 2 of the show, which has already topped season one's record-breaking run. Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will all continue on as EPs on the new series.
Lucifer Tops Streaming Ratings Again
Lucifer has topped the the Nielsen Ratings for video on demand for the second week in a row. The show, which just launched its fifth season, enjoyed over 2 billion minutes of viewing for the week of August 24 to August 30. That's a 25% increase over last week. The other comic adaptation on the charts is The Umbrella Academy which comes in at number five on its fourth week on the chart. That show streamed over 750 million minutes. Both shows can be found on Netflix
