Jamie Foxx to Return as Electro in Spider-Man Hom3?
Is it possible that Jamie Foxx will reprise his ill-fated turn as Electro in the in-development Third MCU Spider-Man movie? That rumor comes from Heat Vision at THR, who does not attach an official source to the rumor. Foxx played the character in the previous iteration of the franchise, in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. It would be an unusual move for sure, but not the first time director Jon Watts has pulled in elements from past versions. He famously restored J.K. Simmons to the role of J. Jonah Jameson in the stinger for Spider-Man: Far From Home. No official or on-record sources are confirming the report at this time.
Warner Bros Adapting Black Feature
Warner Bros. has gotten behind a live-action film based on the Black Mask Studios comic Black created by Kwanza Osajyefo and Tim Smith 3. Bryan Edward Hill, known for producing Titans has written a script for the movie. The core hook of the comic book is the question: what if only black people had super powers. Kareem Jenkins is a black teenager who survives an violent incident, only to realize he is super human. Jeff Robinov, Guy Danella and John Graham are producing for Studio 8 who intially optioned the property. Matteo Pizzolo and Brett Gurewitz are producing for Black Mask Studios. Osajyefo and Smith are also co-producing.
Lucifer, The Boys in Ratings Top 3
Ever since Nielsen began publishing their ratings chart for streaming, a comic-based title has topped the list. This is not the case for the the period of August 31 to September 6. The excellent Cobra Kai, which re-launched with a second season on Netflix, holds that #1 spot with over 2 billion minutes of viewing.
However, Lucifer still arrives as a close #2 with almost 1.5 billion minutes of viewing.
The Boys, which had just dropped episodes of its second season on Amazon Prime at the tail end of the window, debuts at #3 with only 891 million minutes of streaming. It's important to note that Amazon is rolling out the new season of their record-breaking series as weekly episodes, rather than an entire binge-block. It may be that we see The Boys making a slow climb to the top, or perhaps staying in the middle for a longer period.
