Daily Blast: Green Lantern TV Series Loses Showrunner

Green Lantern TV Series Loses Showrunner

A Green Lantern TV series was among the attention-getting announcements of original content prior to the launch of HBO Max. Now, years later, the project is still foundering.

The latest news from The Hollywood Reporter is that co-writer and showrunner Seth Grahame-Smith has exited the development effort.

The series had previously announced Finn Wittrock as Guy Gardner and Jeremy Irvine as Alan Scott. Grahame-Smith had apparently written all the scripts in the eight-episode season around those characters.

The new report indicates that neither actor is attached at this point and, instead, the show is refocusing on the Green Lantern John Stewart.

The creative shift is cited as the reason for a change in creative talent.
