Batman: Caped Crusader

Batman: Caped Crusader is a planned Prime Video animated TV series based on the DC Comics character Batman.

Nearly 30 years since Batman: The Animated Series premiered, producer Bruce Timm once again takes on the mantle of the Bat alongside two of the most acclaimed filmmakers in the industry: J.J. Abrams (Justice League Dark) and Matt Reeves (The Batman). Utilizing state-of-the-art animation techniques and technologies available, this powerful creative partnership will once again reinvent Batman and his iconic rogue’s gallery with sophisticated storytelling, nuanced characters and intense action sequences all set in a visually striking world.

Timm, Abrams and Reeves are executive producers, along with Sam Register and Ed Brubaker.

The series was initially announced as a joint effort between Cartoon Network and HBO Max. However, an August 2022 report saw HBO Max pulling out of the project as part of broad restructuring effort by Warner Bros. Discovery which impacted many Max projects.

Subsequently, a March 2023 report indicates that the series has a two-season order from Amazon for streaming on Prime.
