The Batman Yields Release Date to Dune
Warner Bros. continues to rework its schedule, with the latest move reported by Deadline is to shift the release date of Denis Villeneuve's Dune to October 21, 2021. The only problem with that is: that's the day the studio had earmarked for Matt Reeves' The Batman. To a certainty, the studio will now have to push the Robert Pattinson superhero pic to a new time frame. Some are speculating that the still-in-production film may get booted to 2022.
Jamie Foxx Confirms Spider-Man Return
An unsourced rumor report from last week placed actor Jamie Foxx in the upcoming third MCU Spider-Man movie playing Electro. At the time of the original report, nobody with any official standing was willing to verify the report. However, Foxx did later that day. Screen Rant details a now-deleted post from Foxx himself which stated, "Tell Spidey let's run it back!...super excited to part [sic] of the new marvel [sic] Spider-Man new installment...can't wait for y'all to check the new one. And I won't be blue in this one!!! But a thousand percent badass!!!" So, like J.Jonah Jameson's Spider-verse crossover, expect a different version of the same character played by the same actor. Cool!
Billy Crudup Boarding The Flash
A Friday report from Deadline indicates actor Billy Crudup (Watchmen) is in talks to join the cast of Warner Bros' DCEU movie The Flash. Crudup previously appeared in Justice League as Henry Allen, father to Barry (Ezra Miller). The movie is directed by Andy Muschietti (It) and will adapt some version of the universe-shifting Flashpoint storyline.
