Whedon Responds to Fisher Complaints
Forbes online has amended their recent interview with actor Ray Fisher, in which he details what he feels to be racially-discriminatory actions he and others suffered during the making of Justice League. The new article removes one of he actor's quotes and includes a response from director Joss Whedon's representatives.
While Forbes wove their corrections into the body of the original article, Page Six breaks down what has changed, what Whedon's response entails, as well as insights from their own sources.
Removed is Fisher's allegation that Whedon altered skin tones of non-whites as a matter of personal taste. Whedon's response is that the movie underwent a normal cycle of color correction -- a standard process every movie undergoes to smooth out differences in filming. This was especially necessary in Justice League as director Zack Snyder's footage was shot on film while Whedon worked digitially.
With regards to Fisher's suggestion that Whedon diminished or eliminated people of color from the film, specifically actor Zheng Kai who was to play Ryan Choi (aka The Atom), an insider told Page Six that that character was removed by Warner Bros, before Whedon was hired to complete the project.
