Kraven Casts Its Lead
Sony Pictures has cast the lead in it's Spider-Man Universe film Kraven: The Hunter, according to a report from Deadline. Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Avengers: Age Of Ultron) is set to play the web-slinger's nemesis in his stand-alone feature film. J.C. Chandor (Triple Frontier) is directing the film which now has a tentative release date of January 13, 2023.
Deadline also adds that Art Marcum and Matt Holloway are working on the script, initially written by Richard Wenk. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing.
This will mark Sony's third expansion of the Spider-Verse standing up one of the wall-crawler's antihero opponents.
Sandman Casts Death, Desire, Matthew the Raven and 9 Others
Netflix has announced via social media twelve new casting additions for the TV series adaptation of DC/Vertigo's The Sandman.
- Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Big Hero 6: The Series) is set to play Death, the title character's sister.
- Mason Alexander Park will play Desire, another sibling in The Endless.
- Donna Preston (The Hitman's Bodyguard) is playing Despair.
- Razane Jammal (Paranomral) Lyta Hall, a former hero trapped in the Dreaming.
- Joely Richardson (Nip/Tuck) will play Ethel Cripps, a thief who holds the possessions of the Dream Lord.
- Niamh Walsh (Good Omens) plays a younger version of Cripps.
- David Thewlis (Fargo) plays John Dee, a serial killer also known as Doctor Destiny, son of Cripps.
- Kyo Ra plays Rose Walker, a key figure in the "Doll's House" storyline.
- Patton Oswalt (Marvel's M.O.D.O.K.) provides the voice for Matthew the Raven, a familiar to Dream.
- Stephen Fry (V For Vendetta) is cast as Gilbert, also known as Fiddler's Green, a piece of idyllic landscape in the dreaming that sometimes takes human form.
- Jenna Coleman (Victoria) will play Johanna Constantine, an ancestor of John Constantine.
- Sandra James-Young (EastEnders) plays Unity Kincaid, grandmother of Rose Walker who foresaw the fall of The Sandman.
The series does not yet have a debut date.
Loki Gets Character Posters
The social campaign for Marvel Studios' Loki has released set of new character posters promoting the show. The posters keep the layout of past key art release, with a character in the foreground posed against the large, multi-handed, golden clock of the TVA. The new posters include Tom Hiddleston as the title character, Owen Wilson as Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-raw as Renslayer and Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15. The series begins on Disney+ June 9.
