The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is #1 Once More
The Nielsen numbers for streaming have been released for the week of April 19-25, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is once again the winner on the Original series chart. The Marvel Studios' show released it sixth and final episode during this period, attracting 796 million minutes of viewership for the series as a whole. That's a slight decrease over the previous period but still enough to make the Disney+ show the #1 Original series. It was not enough to repeat last week's feat of topping all the streaming charts, as this week NCIS on Netflix did better numbers in the Acquired programming category.
The show has been #1 on the Originals chart four out of its six weeks of release.
Lucifer on Netflix also made yet another appearance on the Originals list. The show tends to top the rankings when new episodes drop, but also occasionally resurfaces in between seasons. During this period, the series attracted 200 million minutes of viewership, which was enough to make it the #7 show on the Originals list. A new batch of Lucifer episodes arrives on May 28.
Mech Cadets Coming To Netflix
Netflix is developing an animated version of BOOM! Studios' Mech Cadets. The streamer announced plans via social media for the adaptation of the comic series (called Mech Cadet Yu) created by Greg Pak and Takeshi Miyazawa. The effort will be executive produced by Boom!, Japanese studio Polygon Pictures Inc. and Aaron Lam who serves as the writer and an executive producer. The book involves giant space robots who bond with young cadets from the Sky Corps Academy to defend the world from an alien threat. Problems ensue when the wrong kid gets chose.
