Pierce Brosnan to Play Doctor Fate in Black Adam
Pierce Brosnan has been added to the cast of New Line's upcoming Black Adam movie. The Hollywood Reporter tells us that the former James Bond will be playing none other that DC Comics' supreme sorcerer Doctor Fate. He'll join Dwayne Johnson in the film, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra.
Ron Livingston Cast in The Flash Feature
Actor Ron Livingston (Office Space) has joined the cast of the Warner Bros. feature film The Flash, according to a report from Variety. He'll be playing Henry Allen, father of the titular superhero, played by Ezra Miller. Livingston replaces Billy Crudup, who fans recently saw in the role in the just-released Zack Snyder's Justice League. It was revealed recently that Crudup would not reprise the role due to scheduling conflicts.
The report also adds Ian Loh, Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Derry Girls) and Rudy Mancuso are all among the cast now. Loh will play young Barry Allen in the film.
Scott Pilgrim Getting Dolby Re-Release
Director Edgar Wright announced today on social media that his cult comic hit Scott Pilgrim vs. The World will be back in theaters with a special Dolby Cinema makeover on April 30. The movie's sound and picture will be upgraded for specialty Dolby Cinema locations. Wright provides a link to AMC Theaters, who host Dolby screenings. In a separate tweet, the director reveals that a 4K Ultra HD release is also coming.
Fukunaga Adapting Tokyo Ghost for Film
Cary Fukunaga (No Time To Die) has been tapped to direct a feature film version of the Image Comics title Tokyo Ghost, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The comic was created by Rick Remender (Deadly Class) and Sean Murphy (Chrononauts) and involves a future world where technology has overrun everything and two law-enforcement operatives flee the city to the last tech-free place on earth: Tokyo. Legendary Pictures is the studio behind the film. Remender is writing the screenplay. Fukunaga is producing under his Parliament of Owls banner.
