True Blood Producer Developing Madame Xanadu
Deadline reports that HBO Max is planning a Madame Xanadu TV series with Angela Robinson. Best known for True Blood, Robinson is set write and executive produce the show. J.J. Abrams is also producing under his Bad Robot development deal. Ben Stephenson and Rachel Rusch are co-executive producers. The show is among a slate of occult-oriented DC Comics properties that Bad Robot is developing along with Justice League Dark, Constantine and the feature film Zatanna. Madame Xanadu most recently appeared in live-action as a character on the Swamp Thing series where she was portrayed by Jeryl Prescott.
Laurie Holden Joins The Boys 3
Variety reports that actor Laurie Holden has joined the season three cast of The Boys in a recurring role. Holden, who fans remember from The Walking Dead, will be playing the supe Crimson Countess, the Scarlet Witch analogue for the series. Other recently-announced cast additions are Sean Patrick Flanery as Gunpowder, Miles Gaston Villanueva as Supersonic and Nick Wechsler as Blue Hawk. Prime Video has not set a debut date for the new season.
