Loki Tops Streaming Originals Ratings
The Nielsen streaming ratings for the week of June 14 to June 20 have been published and, while it's a slow week for Original programming, the top three entries on that chart are once again comic-based series.
Marvel Studios' Loki, with just two episodes available on Disney+, hit the #1 spot on the Originals chart. It enjoyed 886 million minutes of viewership, which is a 21% improvement over the previous frame, lifting it up from the #3 spot.
The #2 Original program is Lucifer which has a whopping 83 episodes available on Netflix. The show played for 703 million minutes during the week. That's almost a 30% drop from the previous week, but enough to hold it in the second place ranking.
Last week's #1 Original program, Sweet Tooth, is now #3. The eight-episode season attracted 626 million minutes of attention from viewers. That's a reduction of almost 57% for the newbie fantasy series' third week on the chart.
The strongest streaming numbers for the period were found on the Acquired Programming and Movie charts, with acquired series Manifest and Downton Abbey (both on Netflix) and the animated feature Luca (on Disney+) all outperforming Loki.
