Hawkeye Suffers Ratings Drop in Second Week

Marvel Studios' Hawkeye did not grow its audience in its second week of release, according to the latest Nielsen report from streaming ratings. After enjoying better debut numbers than any other Marvel Studios series, Hawkeye saw a loss of viewership during the week of November 29 - December 5, rare for a Marvel Studios series on Disney+. The show attracted 560 million minutes of viewership across its three episodes, a loss of over 34%. That takes it from the #2 spot on the Original Programming list to #3. The numbers were enough to hold the #6 spot on the Overall chart, down three places from the previous window.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings also continues to attract viewers on the Movies chart. The film saw 274 million minutes of viewer focus, which is a loss of 55%. The film drops from #3 to #5 on the Movies chart, and falls off the Overall chart.

Morbius Delayed Once More

Fans are going to have to wait a few months longer for the debut of Sony Pictures' Moribus film. The film was originally slated for release in July of 2020. Pandemic concerns saw the studio pushing it to early 2021, then late 2021. Of late, it seemed like the January 2022 release date was going to hold, as the Sony began releasing trailers and clips from the movie. Now, with the release less than four weeks out, Deadline reports that the studio has abruptly assigned a new date to the film: April 1, 2022. According to their report, the studio is clearing space for Spider-Man: No Way Home to continue its impressive run.
