Wonder Woman 1984 Tops Nielsen Chart After All
When the Nielsen ratings service published their top streaming results for the last week of December 2020, Wonder Woman 1984 was conspicuously absent. HBO Max insisted the film saw unprecedented levels of viewership, but since the ratings service doesn't track that streamer yet, it was the Disney+ film Soul that topped the list. Now, according to Deadline, Nielsen has produced some revised data that clearly spell out the DCEU event as the winner of the week. WW84 racked up a staggering 2.5 billion minutes of eyeball time, quite a bit higher than the 1.67 billion enjoyed by Soul
Zack Snyder's Justice League Set for March Debut
Zack Snyder's Justice League has an official launch date: March 18, 2021. The fan-demanded reworking of the 2017 movie Justice League will run on HBO Max. The announcement comes via twitter earlier today, with the HBO Max account releasing three teaser posters for the event depicting a broken "JL" shield, a tattered "JL" flag and film canisters bearing Snyder's name.
The original film fell short of the director's creative vision when a tragic life event forced him to hand the film over to director Joss Whedon. Fan dissatisfaction with the resulting work let to a years-long demand that Warner Bros., "release the Snyder cut." Eventually the studio answered by announcing they were budgeting Snyder to film new sequences complete the movie according to his vision. Previous reports indicate this new version of the story will be four hours long and may play as a mini-series on the streamer.
