Lucifer, Umbrella Academy in Top 10 for 2020
The Nielsen ratings service has released its top streaming lists for 2020, with two comic-based titles ranking in the top 10.
Lucifer was the #2 most-streamed "Original Series" on the list, with almost 19 billion minutes of streaming time accrued. Netflix released the fifth season of the show last August, and the streaming metrics include viewings of all five seasons.
The Umbrella Academy ranked #6 on the same list. It accrued almost 13.5 billion minutes of viewing time. Also on Netflix, that series released its second season in July.
Topping the "Original Series" list was Ozark, which had a whopping 30 billion+ minutes of streaming.
WandaVision | Character Poster: Monica Rambeau
The WandaVision social media campaign has rolled out its second of the new wave of 1950s sitcom character posters, this one featuring Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau. We're always on the lookout for easter eggs in this artwork but really don't see any here.
Marvel Comics Fans know that Rambeau was the second character in the Marvel Universe to serve as Captain Marvel, with the ability to transform her body into pure energy. She later took on the codenames Photon, Pulsar and Spectrum. It's uncertain if she will display superhuman abilities in the series, but the character is expected to reappaear in Captain Marvel 2
The Disney+ press materials describe the character as, "the daughter of Carol Danver’s best friend Maria, has always been like a niece to Carol who liked to call her 'Lieutenant Trouble.' At age 11, Monica helped Carol choose the colors for the suit she’d ultimately wear as Captain Marvel. Today, Monica is all grown up, destined for her own adventures, obstacles, setbacks and discoveries."
WandaVision debuts on Disney+ this Friday.
