Cox and D'Onofrio May Be In Marvel Studios' Echo Series
With Charlie Cox's Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin both re-introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe last year, there has been rampant speculation about what Marvel Studios aims to do with the characters going forward. Now, a hidden bit of info on the website for a costume designer suggests strongly that the pair will resurface in the Echo TV series for Disney+.
Costume designer Stacy Caballero, who has worked on Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, recently posted an updated resume on her website. Topping the resume was the revelation that she is Costume Designer on Echo. More telling is the list of actors she suited for the series: Alaqua Cox (the series lead, no relation), as well as Charlie Cox and D'Onofrio.
The placement of the characters on this show makes sense. Echo was introduced in the Hawkeye TV series, but she has primarily appeared in the comics as a character in the Daredevil comics. Her initial comic book villain intro mirrored what we saw in the Hawkeye show, acting as an vengeful general in the Kingpin's army of crime. She later learns that Kingpin has been lying to her and joins Daredevil in his battle against Fisk. Her solo TV series will follow the events of Hawkeye, which also reveals D'Onofrio's Kingpin in its final episodes, and his manipulation of Echo.
Caballero's resume also lists Sydney Freeland (Reservation Dogs) as the director of Echo. Disney+ has not set a date for the series yet but it is expected in 2023.
Paranormal Hitmen Headed to TV
Deadline reports that plans are afoot to adapt the newly-published action-comedy Paranormal Hitmen as a TV series. Brian Goldner and Josh Feldman are executive producing for eOne. The comics creators Brett Murphy and Wilson Gandolpho are also executive producers.
The publisher, Behemoth Entertainment, pitches the series as, "The Sopranos meets Ghostbusters," with two mob hitmen being recruited into a mysterious government agency that tasks them with hunting and killing ghosts.
Locke & Key to End With Season 3
Deadline reports that the popular Netflix series Locke & Key will not continue past its third season. The decision is apparently meshing well with producers plans, who were well-informed about the series length. As such, the eight-episode third season will provide a definite conclusion to the story. Filming on season three happened back-to-back with season two, so fans won't likely have to wait too long for it to arrive.
