Spawn Movie Hires 3 Writers
The much-ballyhoo'd Spawn movie news broke from The Hollywood Reporter earlier today.
Screenwriters Scott Silver, Malcolm Spellman and Matthew Mixon are collaborating on the long-gestating relaunch of the franchise.
Silver is well-known to readers of this site as the co-writer of Joker and the upcoming Joker Folie à Deux.
Spellman brings the MCU-cred with his work on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and the upcoming Captain America: New World Order.
Jamie Foxx is attached to star. Jeremy Renner is also said to be tentatively attached.
Pennyworth Season 3: Jack Bannon Poster
The season three launch of Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman's Butler happens tomorrow.
It's fitting then, that the new character poster from the social campaign for the series is the leading man: Jack Bannon as young Alfred Pennyworth.
The new season starts Thursday on HBO Max.
Savage Town Headed for Animation
Lighthouse Studios (The Cuphead Show) aims to bring the Image Comics series Savage Town to life as an adult animated TV series.
Deadline reports that Marcus Fleming will serve as head writer on the series.
The book, created by Declan Shalvey, Philip Barrett and Jordie Bellaire, details the rise of an Irish gangster names Jim 'Hardy' Savage, during the Country's economic boom time known as the Celtic Tiger.
Justice U Still In the Works at The CW
Fans worrying that recent shake-ups at The CW may have spelled doom for David Ramsey's Arrowverse spin-off Justice U, can find respite in a recent report from TV Line.
Ramsey told the outlet, "we’re on the second draft of a script, and we just closed the deal on a writer. I’m not sure I can say her name, so I won’t, but we’re very close to submitting our second draft. It’s still in development, and we’re moving forward."
The series would find Ramsey's John Diggle character mentoring five young metahumans who reside at a upper-class college.
Jamie Foxx Confirmed for Spawn Reboot
While chatting on SiriusXM's Jim & Sam show, comics creator Todd McFarlane confirmed unequivocally a long-standing casting rumor on the Spawn reboot film.
Jamie Foxx (Spider-Man: No Way Home) is definitely attached for the lead role in the film, and apparently very eager to get started.
"Jamie Foxx has been with it the whole time," McFarlane said. "Every two weeks he leave me a message...He's still on board. Hasn't wavered, anything, he's sort of hardcore with it."
The interview comes as McFarlane teases a major talent announcement to be made later today.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Specialty Posters
The social campaign has dropped a handful of new posters for the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The new key art touts specialty presentations for4DX, Screen X, Real D, Dolby Cinema and IMAX. Each poster features varying configurations of the cast: Letitia Wright, Tenoch Huerta, Lupita Nyong'o, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke and Florence Kasumba.
The Dolby Cinema promo is particularly stark, emphasizing the Feathered Serpent looming over the principals of Wakanda.
See the movie in theaters November 11.
