The frail Dr. Michael Morbius (Jared Leto) searches for a cure to his blood disease, but instead becomes the next Marvel legend in this trailer for Morbius. The trailer contains multiple references to the Sony Pictures Spider-Man Universe including a poster of the web-slinger on an alley wall, a glimpse of the Oscorp tower, blurbs about Rhino and Black Cat on the front of a copy of The Daily Bugle, a name drop for Venom and another appearance by Michael Keaton (who is likely reprising his Spider-Man: Homecoming role of Adrian Toomes/The Vulture). See it in theaters January 28.
Morbius is a Sony Pictures Entertainment feature film based on the Marvel Comics Spider-Man villain of the same name. Jared Leto stars as Michael Morbius, a scientist studying blood disease who accidentally infects himself with a custom illness. Now he's averse to sunlight, has superhuman strength and an unquenchable thirst for blood. Unlike the undead such as Dracula, Morbius is living vampire, born of science not supernature.
Doctor Who alum Matt Smith plays the film's villain Loxias Crown (aka Hunger). Adria Arjona and Jared Harris are also among the cast.
Morbius is directed by Daniel Espinosa (Life, Easy Money) from a script by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless (Power Rangers, Gods of Egypt).
