Here it is: the much-anticipated first trailer for Morbius! Jared Leto stars as Michale Morbius, a man afflicted with a rare blood disease who transforms himself into a living vampire. The film is part of Sony Pictures' Spider-Man microcosm and is clearly set in that world, given the Spider-Man poster seen in the background of one scene, and the surprise appearance of Michael Keaton's Adrian Toomes. Rumor has it J.K. Simmons is also set to cameo. Mobius arrives in theaters July 31.
Morbius is a Sony Pictures Entertainment feature film based on the Marvel Comics Spider-Man villain of the same name. Jared Leto stars as Michael Morbius, a scientist studying blood disease who accidentally infects himself with a custom illness. Now he's averse to sunlight, has superhuman strength and an unquenchable thirst for blood. Unlike the undead such as Dracula, Morbius is living vampire, born of science not supernature.
Doctor Who alum Matt Smith plays the film's villain Loxias Crown (aka Hunger). Adria Arjona and Jared Harris are also among the cast.
Morbius is directed by Daniel Espinosa (Life, Easy Money) from a script by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless (Power Rangers, Gods of Egypt).
