Gotham Knights Get Series Order
The CW has ordered the Gotham Knights pilot to series. Deadline reported the development, which also includes orders for Walker: Independence and The Winchesters. A related story from Variety also places actor Oscar Morgan in the lead roles as the son of Bruce Wayne. Previous reports had pegged Morgan as playing a character named Turner Hayes.
The reports also provides this synopsis for the DC Comics-based series: "In the aftermath of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. As the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous it’s ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected of places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors known as the Gotham Knights."
Naomi Cancelled by The CW
The CW's freshman superhero series Naomi has been cancelled, according to a report from Deadline. The show, which aired its final two episodes on Tuesday, consistently struggled in the ratings and failed to connect with any large audience. The fact that The CW is transitioning owners probably hasn't helped matters as the network is announcing a flurry of cancellations today. As is always the case these days, the series producers are exploring other options in the myriad of streaming platforms out there. As the show is produced by Warner Bros and based on a DC Comics property, it's not unreasonable to think it could end up on HBO Max.
