Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Filming Underway
Filmmaker James Gunn took to social media earlier today to let fans know that filming of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 has begun. The director tweeted a photo of himself with cast members Will Poulter, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista and Karen Gillan. One additional actor is present in the grainy photo, who has been tentatively identified as Chukwudi Iwuji. Iwuji is also among the cast of Gunn's Peacemaker TV series.
In the tweet, Gunn said, "It’s been a strange & long & at times challenging journey to get here, but the obstacles along the way have only made this moment more blissful. Back on set with my Guardians family for the first day of shooting."
The film is currently scheduled to arrive in May of 2023.
Disney+ Offering IMAX Enhanced MCU Films Starting 11/12
Disney+ announced today plans to present IMAX formatted screenings of 13 films on the streaming service starting November 12, also known as Disney+ day. Among the films eligible for the IMAX Enhanced aspect ratio will be Marvel Studios titles Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Iron Man, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-man And The Wasp, Avengers: Endgame and Black Widow.
IMAX Enhanced will present the 1:90:1 aspect ratio that you would see on the mega-screen, for select sequences of the movie. It's up to the viewer, of course, to have a big enough screen to capture the IMAX experience at home.
Anthony Russo who co-directed four MCU films with brother Joe, explained his excitement over the new feature on Twitter:
Spider-Man: No Way Home Poster Promises 4 Villains and A Multiverse
The social campaign for Spider-Man: No Way Home has released a new poster for the film. Depicted is the web-slinger in his iron-spider armor with the tentacles of Doctor Octopus in the foreground. In the background we can see Green Goblin on his glider, a lightning bolt signifying Electro and tendrils of dirt depicting Sandman. The social post also promises, "the multiverse unleashed." The movie arrives in theaters December 17.
