Guardians of the Galaxy
Guardians of the Galaxy focuses on Peter Quill, intergalactic rouge/thief, self-nicknamed Star-Lord. Quill has pilfered an orb from an abandoned planet and finds himself pursued by Kree bounty hunters. His attempt to escape fails and he's locked up with the assassin Gamora, the warrior Drax, the tree-man Groot and the genetically engineered Rocket. Together they escape with the stone but realize that this orb is sought after by Gamora's father, Thanos, for reasons unknown. The group's bonding adventure kicks off events that lead directly into Avengers: Infinity War.
Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista star, along with the voice talents of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel. Also starring are Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, John C. Reilly, Benicio del Toro and Glenn Close.
James Gunn established himself as an A-list director with this film, which he co-wrote with Nicole Perlman.
