Another Hellboy Reboot Planned
News broke this weekend from European Film Market of a planned reboot of Hellboy as a movie franchise.
Discussing Film broke the story with Deadline filling in key details about Hellboy: The Crooked Man, a new feature film that will restart the franchise.
An interesting twist this time has series creator Mike Mignola co-writing the screenplay for the film with frequent collaborator Christopher Golden.
Brian Taylor (Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance) is directing the feature which will, apparently, not star David Harbour, who top-lined the ill-fated 2019 Hellboy reboot.
The story, based on the comic book mini-series of the same name, has Hellboy travelling to the Appalachian back-country of West Virginia to help a man retrieve his soul from the titular deamon, the Crooked Man.
Mike Richardson is producing for Dark Horse. Jeffrey Greenstein, Jonathan Yunger, Les Weldon, Rob Van Norden and Yariv Lerner are producing for Millenium. Mignola, Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson and Tanner Mobley are executive producers Lati Grobman and Christa Campbell are also executive producers for Campbell Grobman Films. Sam Schulte is co-producing for Millennium.
