Bendis Developing Legion of Superheroes Series
Comics creator Brian Michael Bendis announced to subscribers of his newsletter that he's been hard at work developing Legion of Superheroes for HBO Max. The show would be animated, aimed at an adult audience and directly adapt his run on the comics title, which was illustrated by Ryan Sook.
Bendis reports that the project is part of his growing relationship with the streamer, for whom he recently adapted his own comic Cover as an animated series. Following his work on that one, the invited him to pitch more projects. LSH has apparently crossed several hurdles.
Bendis is on a roll, of late, with his original DCU character Naomi also debuting as a TV series on The CW next month.
Peacemaker to Debut With 3 Episodes
Peacemaker series creator James Gunn informed fans on social media that his new HBO Max series will hit the ground running in terms of episode count. The January 13 debut date will see the release of the first three episodes of the show. It'll proceed at a one-per-week pace after that, until the final episode on February 17. John Cena reprises his role from The Suicide Squad in this prequel.
Marvel Studios Hawkeye | Big Guy Shadows Finale Poster
The social campaign for Marvel Studios' Hawkeye has dropped the final series poster for the show. This one is a classic floating heads composition which features the assembled cast Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Florence Pugh, Alaqua Cox, Vera Farmiga, Tony Dalton, Fra Fee, Carlos Navarro, Aleks Paunovic, Piotr Adamczyk and Lucky the Pizza Dog. Looming over them is a shadow that describes the shape of "The Big Guy," the series puppet master revealed at the end of episode five. The final episode streams Wednesday on Disney+.
