Jake Gyllenhaal To Star in Oblivion Song
Actor Jake Gyllenhall is set to star in New Republic Pictures feature film adaptation of the Skybound Entertainment comic book series Oblivion Song, according to a report from Deadline. Gyllenhaal will also produce under his Nine Stories production shingle with partner Riva Marker.
The comics are created by Robert Kirkman and Lorenzo De Felici and involve a world where a huge tract of Philadelphia has been swallowed into a no man's land called Oblivion, and Nathan Cole, a man who continues to embark on rescue missions into the zone. Kirkman, David Alpert, Bryan Furst and Sean Furst are producing for Skybound. Brian Oliver and Bradley Fischer are producing for New Republic.
Disney+ Teases Fall Start for Just Beyond
The social campaign for Disney+ has revealed that the series adaptation of R.L. Stine's Just Beyond graphic novels will hit the streamer this fall. The announcement comes with a set of uncaptioned photos featuring middle and high-school-aged kids in a school setting. One photo includes a Slenderman-esque figure lurking in the shadows. The books were published by BOOM! Studios. Seth Grahame-Smith is developing the series.
