The Chosen One (TV Series): Series Premiere

The Chosen One is the 2023 Netflix TV series based on the Image Comics title American Jesus, created by Mark Millar.

The show is part of the overarching development deal between Millar and the streamer.

Bobby Luhnow, Dianna Agron and Tenoch Huerta (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) star.

Director Everardo Gout (who has directed episodes of Luke Cage and Snowpiercer) and producer Leopold Gout are attached. The initial season will be six episodes.

Netflix provides this synopsis of the show: After surviving a freak accident, Jodie, a twelve-year-old boy from Santa Rosalia, Baja California Sur, discovers he's the returned Jesus Christ. He can turn water into wine, make the crippled walk… he can even raise the dead. How will he deal with his destiny and lead the world through a conflict that's been thousands of years in the making?
