Although 2020 has been an understanbly weak year for movies, E! has already announced the nominees for their People's Choice Awards a good number of which are comics-based films.
Up for the "Movie of 2020" title are Birds Of Prey, Extraction and The Old Guard, all mediocre movies to be sure but with nothing arriving in theaters, there isn't much to compete against.
Those same three movies are also up for "Action Movie of 2020," along with the Valiant Comics-based Bloodshot.
Vin Diesel and Chris Hemsworth are up for "Male Movie Star of 2020" for their work in Bloodshot and Extraction respectively. Charlize Theron and Margot Robbie get nods in the "Female Movie Star of 2020" for The Old Guard and Birds of Prey respectively. All four of those actors are also up for "Action Movie Star of 2020."
Riverdale and The Walking Dead are named in the "Drama Show of 2020" category. Cole Sprouse and Norman Reedus also got nods in the "Male TV Star of 2020" category for those same shows. Likewise Lili Reinhart and Danai Gurira are up for "Female TV Star 2020," for those shows. Sprouse and Gurira are up for "Drama TV Star of 2020" as well.
It's a comic-to-film near sweep in the "Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show of 2020," with nominations for DC's Legends Of Tomorrow, Locke & Key, Supergirl, The Flash, The Umbrella Academy and Wynonna Earp.
