You Brought Me The Ocean (TV Series)

You Brought Me The Ocean is a planned HBO Max TV series based on the DC Comics graphic novel of the same name, featuring an alt take on Aqualad, written by Alex Sanchez and illustrated by Julie Maroh.

Charlize Theron (The Old Guard) is executive producing under her Denver & Delilah Films banner. AJ Dix, Beth Kono and Andrew Haas are also producing for D&D.

The book summary for DC Comics spotlights Jake Hyde, a closeted young man who is afraid of swimming after his father drowned. Though his family has moved to the desert of New Mexico Jake feels compelled to pursue a life in Miami. Strange blue markings on his skin have him emerging super powers as well has his repressed sexual identity. Jake Hyde is roughly analogous to the Kaldur'ahm version of Aqualad.
