Ms. Marvel
Ms. Marvel is the 2022 live-action Marvel Studios TV series for Disney+ based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.
Newcomer Iman Vellani is cast to play Kamala Khan, a Pakistani American teenager of Muslim faith, and major Captain Marvel fan, who gains superpowers. In the comics this is due to her being part Inhuman. Matt Lintz appears as Kamala's buddy Bruno. The series also stars Alysia Reiner, Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer and Nimra Bucha.
Disney+ provides this synopsis for the series: Marvel Studios’ Ms. Marvel is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?"
Bisha K. Ali is the show's head writer. Directing episodes are Bilall Fallah & Adil El Arbi, Meera Menon and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.
