Lady Gaga to Co-Star in Musical Joker 2
If the 2019 film Joker tested the boundaries of adapting mainstream comics, look for Joker Folie Á Deux to go even further. An article from The Hollywood Reporter says that Warner Bros. is looking to hire Lady Gaga to co-star, ramping up speculation that the movie will introduce a this continuity's version of Harley Quinn. Even more surprising is that the sequel is said to be a musical. Director Todd Phillips has history with Gaga, having produced her in A Star is Born.

The social campaign for The Umbrella Academy continues to post new character intro videos to help you get ramped up for season three. Here are two more, one featuring returning Umbrella alum Luther (played by Tom Hopper) and another featuring Sparrow #4, Alphonso Hargreeves (Jake Epstine). The new episodes hit Netflix on June 22.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Adds Nico Santos
Deadline reports that actor Nico Santos is among the cast of the recently-wrapped Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3. As is often the case with Marvel Studios productions, there are no details on what character the Crazy Rich Asians actor may be playing. The film is due in theaters next May.
Batman: Azteca Animated Feature Film in the Works
HBO Max Latin America is planning a unique, animated adaptation of Batman, according to Variety. Batman Azteca: Choque de Imperios (Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires) is a collaboration between Warner Bros. Animation, Particular Crowd, Anima and Chatrone.
The film will tell an Elseworlds tale set in Aztec Mexico that centers on a boy named Yohualli Coatl, the son of the villain leader Toltecatzin. When Toltecatizn is murdered by Spanish Conquistadors, The boy trains to become a force capable of repelling the invaders. He becomes the Batman.
Juan Meza-León (Harley Quinn) is directing. José C. García de Letona and Fernando De Fuentes are producing for Anima. Aaron D. Berger and Carina Schulze are producing for Chatrone. Sam Register and Tomás Yankelevich are executive producers. Alejandro Díaz Barriga, an expert on Mesoamerican studies and the ethnic history of Mexico and the Andean region is consulting for authenticity.
