Here's Netflix sizzle reel for their 2023 movie slate.
One minute in is a plethora of new footage from Extraction 2 in which Chris Hemsworth's Tyler Rake proclaims, "it feels like I'm coming out of retirement." The movie is slated for June 16.
We also get a tease of director David Fincher's adaptation of the Archaia graphic novel, The Killer, which stars Michael Fassbender and Tilda Swinton.
Conspicuously absent is The Old Guard 2, which looks like it'll probably drop in 2024 now.
Extraction 2 is the announced sequel to the 2020 film Extraction, based on the character Tyler Rake introduced in the Oni Press graphic novel Ciudad by writer Ande Parks and artist Fernando Leon Gonzalez from a story by Joe and Anthony Russo.
Joe Russo, who wrote the screenplay for the original, has written the sequel script. Tentative plans are to see director Sam Hargrave and star Chris Hemsworth return (answering the question posed by the first movie's vague ending).
An August 2021 report tips Prague as the primary location for the production.
The Russo brothers are producing for their AGBO production company.
Extraction was the biggest ever film debut for Netflix.
