Jame Gunn / Peter Safran to Co-Chair DC Studios
In the aftermath Warner Bros. Discovery merger, the studios has lead an extensive search to find their own Kevin Feige -- someone with a vision for guiding the DC Comics brand into a consistent hit-making machine.
Now, Deadline and other sources are reporting the filmmaker James Gunn and producing partner Peter Safran have been anointed as Co-Chairmen and Chief Executive Officers of DC Studios.
Together, the pair have brought The Suicide Squad to the big screen and Peacemaker to streaming. Safran has also been there for some of the DCEU's better-received offerings like Aquaman and Shazam.
DC Studios will unite the brand's film, television and animation efforts under a single banner, much as Marvel Studios has done in the past few years.
Batwoman Star Set for The Flash Season 9
EW reports that actor Javicia Leslie is set to appear in the ninth and final season of The Flash.
Leslie was the star of seasons two and three of the now-cancelled Batwoman and also appeared in season eight of The Flash.
The report indicates that her role is being kept secret, which may indicate that she's not playing Ryan Wilder (aka Batwoman). The report is also unclear about the number of episodes she'll appear in.
The Flash begins its final run on The CW in Winter 2023.
