Superman & Lois Gets New Cast Member
Actor Djouliet Amara (Riverdale) is set to recur on season two of Superman & Lois, according to a report from Deadline. The actor will play a new student at Smallville High with plenty of dark secrets.
Lucifer Dominates Nielsen Charts
For most weeks that the Nielsen Ratings Service has published streaming ratings, Netflix's Lucifer has been persistent presence and the week of September 13th to the 19th is no exception. The TV series, with 93 episodes available was the undisputed champion in the Original Programming chart -- and on all streaming carts -- with a whopping 1.58 billion minutes of viewership. That's a 58% increase over the previous week, where season six arrived midway through. It rose from #2 to #1, with the next biggest draw gathering only about half as much audience time.
Marvel Studios' What If...? dropped its sixth episode during the window scoring 243 million minutes of watchers. Thats a reduction of about 6% from the previous week for the Disney+ series, but allowed it to take the #8 spot on the Original Programming stop, up one position.
No other comic-based fare appeared in the rankings.
Jackson Announces Start of Secret Invasion
Production on the Marvel Studios series Secret Invasion has commenced, according to its star Samuel L. Jackson. The actor posted a close-up selfie taken while wearing a Nick Fury T-Shirt on social media. The post also came with the caption, "Time to get back in the groove. Happy to be back on the attack! #secretinvasion #fuckthatsnap #backwithafury."
The Disney+ series will delve into Nick Fury's new intiative that was teased at in the Spider-Man: Far From Home film, where audiences saw Fury was alive and well and living on a space station with a crew that included Skrulls.
