Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and Ms. Marvel Previewed in Disney+ Day Special
In the final Marvel Studios' themed tweet for Disney+ day, the streamer offered up a direct link to the Marvel Studios 2021 Disney+ Day Special, available to subscribers of the service. The 14 minute special looks back at the previous year's worth of content, and looks forward to what's next.
It includes an extended preview of Marvel Studios' Hawkeye, which begins November 24.
Then proceeds with the first footage from Moon Knight, starring Oscar Isaac as the unhinged hero. That's followed by your first look at She-Hulk starring Tatiana Maslany, with a guest appearance by Mark Ruffalo in Professor Hulk mode, and a callback to the classic Hulk series. Finally we have a look at Iman Vellani in Ms. Marvel, as "a brown girl from Jersey City," in a home-made Captain Marvel suit.
Secret Invasion Gets New Logo
Disney+ tweeted out a new logo for the Secret Invasion series from Marvel Studios. it's pretty similar to the old logo but carries the Skrull purple/green color combo and a more intricate pattern rendered. No new details are given about the series which has Samuel L. Jackson returning to the role of Nick Fury once more.
Marvel Zombies Goes to Series
Disney+ has announced that a Marvel Zombies series is part of Marvel Studios' upcoming slate. The concept made its animated debut in an episode of Marvel Studios' What If...?, and its presumed that some of the story elements from that show would carry over.
WandaVision Spinoff Gets Title/Logo
The recently-rumored spin-off of WandaVision now has a title. Disney+ tweeted out a logo treatment for Agatha: House Of Harkness. The Marvel Studios show would star Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, a role she originated on the previous series. It's not clear if this will be a prequel or sequel to WandaVision, but Jac Schaeffer is returning to write and produce this series.
Ironheart Gets Logo Refresh
Disney+ offers up a new logo for the Marvel Studios' series Ironheart. The new key art looks a bit less "Armored Avenger" and a bit more industrial. The tweet offers no new info about the series, which will star Dominique Thorne, who is also playing the role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Spider-Man Returns to Animation with Freshmen Year
The next Spider-Man adventure from Marvel Studios is going to be a Disney+ animated series called Spider-Man: Freshman Year. The web-slinger just wrapped the third season of its previous animated series last year, so this looks to be yet another reboot of the wall-crawler's toon career. It's not clear if this will be set in the MCU or not. No time frame is given with the announcement.
Marvel Studios' Echo Reveals Logo
That recently-announced Marvel Studios series centered on the character of Echo looks to be a priority. Disney+ tweeted out a logo for the new show. Fans will meet Echo, played by Alaqua Cox this year in the Hawkeye series. The character originated in the comics as a sympathetic opponent for Daredevil, who quickly turned into an ally. She was the first character to wear the Ronin battle suit, which Hawkeye is seen sporting in Avengers: Endgame. No release date is attached to the show.
Marvel Studios' What If...? Set for Season 2
Fans who watched the What If...? episode of Marvel Studios Assembled already knew this, but a Disney+ Day tweet makes it official: Marvel Studios' What If...? will return for a second season. The tweet does not indicate a time frame from the new episodes to appear.
Ms. Marvel Gets New Logo, Release Frame
The Ms. Marvel series from Marvel Studios also has a new logo. Disney+ tweeted out the new look, which isn't dramatically different from the previous one, but is a bit more rendered and detailed, with the signature Captain Marvel star embedded on the "S." The tweet also reveals that we'll be seeing the show in "Summer of 2022." Which may mean its the next bit of Marvel original content hitting the streamer.
She-Hulk Gets New Logo
Disney+ tweeted out a new logo for Marvel Studios' She-Hulk series. The new look eschews the ragged, raging design of the previous key art and instead evokes an "L.A. Law" sort of feel, appropriate as the lead hero is also an attorney. The tweet doesn't offer any more info about the show, but we know Tatiana Maslany is starring as Jennifer Walters, and Mark Ruffalo and Tim Roth are both expected to appear.
Marvel Studios to Continue Classic X-Men Series With New Episodes
Disney+ has announced plans for a new, Marvel Studios animated TV series called X-Men '97. The show is a continuation of the classic X-Men animated series which began in1992 and ended in 1997. It looks like the new episodes will pick up where that one left off. The annoucement came with a tweet featuring Wolverine, in full canary-yellow costume from that show, looking longingly at a framed photo, which contains the logo and 2023 date for the show.
It was followed by a second tweet with just the logo, but, confirming this is an original series with new episodes.
Disney+ Day Brings Numerous Marvel Studios Announcements
November 12 is the second anniversary of Disney+, and it promises to bring a slew of announcements around Marvel Studios content. The announcements will appear here throughout the day.
