Shazam 2! Adds Helen Mirren
Helen Mirren will play a villain in the upcoming Shazam! Fury of the Gods, according to a report from Deadline. She'll be playing Hespera, daughter of Atlas. Fans know that "Shazam" is an acronym made up of the names of many Gods and mythic figures. The first "A" is for Atlas. Based on the title Hespera will be one of many gods out to get the family of super-powered orphans led by Zachary Levi's title hero.
Black Widow to Get Simultaneous Disney+ and Theatrical Release
Although Disney has been holding the line for a while now, the studio has finally shifted release plans for Black Widow, the company has announced. The film, originally scheduled for last Spring, will now be released on July 9. Further the film will debut in theaters and as a premiere add-on for Disney+ subscribers (which means an additional premium fee is required to view it). Black Widow is the first Marvel Studios feature since 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home.
The July date was previously meant for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which is now slated for September 3. The announcement also tells us that The King's Man, which was due in August, now has a release date of December 22.
The social campaign for Black Widow also released a poster featuring star Scarlett Johansson in the "White Widow" battle suit, touting the new release date.
