Batwoman | First Look at Camrus Johnson as Batwing
The CW has published a pair of photos touting Batwoman actor Camrus Johnson in his new role as Batwing. Johnson has been a cast member of the series since episode one, playing engineering genius Luke Fox, son of Wayne Technology's Lucius Fox. He aided Batman in his war on crime and stepped up to aid Batwoman when the time came. Recently the character was nearly killed but now emerges with a new battlesuit, and a new hero identity.
Jim Mickle To Direct God Country Film
Filmmaker Jim Mickle, on a roll from his successful launch of Sweet Tooth on Netflix, is looking to direct the feature film version of another comic title, according to a report on Deadline. Mickle will take the director's chair on Legendary Pictures' adaptation of the Image Comics title God Country, which was created by Donny Cates, Geoff Shaw and Jason Wordie. Cates has written the script for the film. Mickle will produce with partner Linda Moran. Lee Kramer and Jon Kramer are producing for AfterShock Media. The story involves a Texas man losing a battle to dementia when an otherworldly sword imbues hims with superhuman powers, and draws a host of creatures to battle him.
Dwayne Johnson Unveils Super Pets Cast
Two weeks ago it was revealed that Dwayne Johnson is producing and starring in the animated feature film DC's League of Super Pets. Today, the actor unveiled a teaser trailer of his character, Krypto, flying before the film's logo before unveiling the additional voice cast of the film. Credited in the teaser are Kevin Hart as Ace (the bat hound), as well as Kate McKinnon, John Krasinski, Vanessa Bayer, Natasha Lyonne, Diego Luna and Keanu Reeves. The teaser also confirms the film's release date for May 20, 2022.
Taraji P. Henson to Menace New Live Production of Annie
The long-running classic comic strip Little Orphan Annie is set for another reprisal of its broadway musical version. NBC has announced plans for Annie Live!, to air on the network December 2nd.
Actor Taraji P. Henson has been cast to play Miss Hannigan, the unscrupulous head of orphanage where we initially find Annie. The role has previously been played on screen by Carol Burnett, Kathy Bates and Cameron Diaz.
The network has announced a search for the new face of the title character, directing young actors to the casting notice at https://castittalent.com/Annie_Live. No other casting has been annoucned.
The musical Annie enjoyed a long run on Broadway and has been adapted to film three times already.
