Harbinger Movie Gets New Writer/Director

Paramount Pictures' adaptation of Valiant Entertainment's comic book Harbinger has a new director, according to a report from Deadline. Paul Downs Colaizzo, best known for the indie comedy Brittany Runs a Marathon, is reportedly negotiating to direct the picture. Wes Ball (The Maze Runner) had previously been attached to direct, but is said to be busy with a Planet of the Apes movie. Downs Colaizzo will reportedly rewrite Andrew Lanham's script as well.

Midnight Western Theater Rides to TV

Upstart Scout Comics continues to move their comics into other media, with the latest effort adapting Midnight Western Theater to TV. Deadline reports that the company has partnered with Management Production Entertainment to develop the western/horror hybrid. Newcomer Kevin Carroll is producing and writing the adaptation. Oren Segal is for MPE. Scout Comics are also producing. The comic was created by Louis Southard.
