Joe Kosinski Directing Chariot Adaptation
Deadline reports that director Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) is attached to direct a live-action adaptation of the AWA comics series Chariot. Warner Bros. purchased the film rights for the comic, created by Bryan Edward Hill and Priscilla Petraites, in what is described as an auction. Julian Meiojas (The Flash) has been tapped to write the script, which focuses on a supercharged muscle car, developed as a secret project during the cold war. A modern thief steals the car and finds the consciousness of the super-spy agent who once drove the vehicle has been downloaded into the vehicle's circuits.
Kosinksi is producing with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen at 21 Laps. Zack Studin is executive producer of AWA under their newly-formed AWA Studios.
